Baseball Style Motorcycle Helmet

Over the past decade the Baseball Style Motorcycle Helmet has grown in popularity. To be honest, it is a style that I just do not understand. I also would not recommend them, as they are not DOT approved. It is probably true that they are safer than not wearing any helmet, but not by much. These are considered novelty helmets and not meant to be worn as safety equipment. With that all being said, if you are going to wear a baseball style novelty helmet, you should at least wear the best!

MicroLids Baseball Style Helmet

The MicroLids Baseball Style Helmet for bikers has a unique design from any other traditional motorcycle helmet. It is designed to look like wearing a baseball cap. It can be worn facing forward or backwards. Most people wear them with the bill facing backwards.

The requirements for the DOT standard are fairly minimal. This helmet does not meet the safety requirements of the DOT. These helmets meet all requirements, except for the foam padding. The foam padding in a helmet is designed to absorb and distribute the forces of an impact. This helmet does not meet this requirement. It does have the other required elements though. It has a hard outer shell, which is made from ABS plastic. It also has a chin strap that is securely riveted to the outer shell.

The MicroLid uses a ratcheting style strap, which I really like. The ratcheting closure makes it easy to put the helmet on and take it off. It is also adjustable. You can adjust the straps themselves, or change which notch in the ratchet you choose.

The MicroLid Baseball Style Helmet has a soft inner liner. All of the Micro helmets have great liners. It has a very plush feel, which makes it comfortable to wear and eliminates any pressure points. This one is removable as well. So, you can keep your helmet smelling fresh and clean by removing the liner and washing it.

The MicroLid Baseball Style Helmet is available in a variety of colors and finishes. They are available in black, charcoal, and white. They are available in both matte and gloss finishes. You also have a wide range of available sizes to ensure a proper fitting helmet. Be sure to reference the size chart to ensure you order the proper size.

Though this is a helmet that I would not wear, I get the unique style of the helmet being attractive. If you are looking for a novelty helmet that stands out and allows you to express yourself, then go for it. If you looking for a low profile half helmet that does meet DOT requirements, I would suggest taking a look at MicroDot's (same company) other options, like the Blister or Twister
