There are a lot of reasons you may be considering upgrading the stock headlight on your Street Glide. Most riders that are contemplating a LED upgrade want to see and be seen. A brighter headlight can certainly help with that. LED's are typically much brighter than a halogen bulb and cast a wider beam, improving visibility. For others, it is a great way to upgrade the look of their bike. Regardless of your reason, it is an upgrade worth doing. The best part is that it is an easy plug and play upgrade that most anyone can do themselves.

Let's dive into some of the best headlight upgrades on the market for your Street Glide.

HogWorkz LED 7" Halomaker Headlight

Street Glide Headlight

The HogWorkz LED 7" Halomaker Headlight for the Street Glide is designed to offer incredible visibility with a very modern look. The halo style of the headlight has grown in popularity in the last few years. It is a very distinctive style that gives your bike a menacing look.

The Halomaker has a natural white light that greatly improves nighttime visibility. The low beam produces 3600 lumens and the high beam provides 5400 lumens. The projector lenses are in an aluminum housing. The outer lens is made from a shatterproof polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is durable and made to hold up to the elements of the road. I have to say, I miss glass. Maybe I'm just getting old. I digress. The polycarbonate looks just as good as glass, but it doesn't have the same feel. It is probably what I see as the only drawback to all LED lights. It is a trade off I am willing to make for all of the benefits of LED lighting.

This Halomaker will fit multiple motorcycles as a 7" headlight is a fairly standard size. It is plug and play for most models. For a 2014 and up touring bike with a batwing fairing, the needed wiring harness and mounting brackets are included. It shows that it fits a Road King, but most people complain of fitment issues on that particular model.

This headlight makes our list because of the value. It is a great looking headlight that performs well and it is priced right. If you want a good quality headlight that doesn't break the bank, this is worth a look.

Custom Dynamics ProBEAM LED 7" Headlight Upgrade for Street Glide

LED Headlight

In all honesty, you can't really go wrong with anything from Custom Dynamics. The ProBEAM Headlight is no exception. The ProBEAM looks at home on a Street Glide. I see a lot of cheap LED light "upgrades" on bikes that just look like an afterthought. In my opinion, a headlight should be a subtle appearance upgrade, not a focal point. The ProBEAM pullls that off nicely. When the bike is on it is a visually stunning light.

The Custom Dynamics ProBEAM cast a very wide beam with no dark spots. It is a very bright white light that greatly improves visibility. When the high beams are flipped on, the low beams stay illuminated. The projector beams pierce through the night allowing you to see far ahead, while the maintaining the wide beam visibility provided by the low beam lights.

There are three reasons the Custom Dynamics ProBEAM should be at the top of your list. First, they are a North Carolina based company and their products are made in the USA. Second, they are known for using only the highest quality of materials. That being said, this headlight is a little pricey, but not outrageous, and well worth the money. Finally, custom Dynamics offers a lifetime warranty (on the LED) and has the customer service to back it up.

J.W. Speaker Adaptive 2 Headlight

Adaptive motorcycle headlight

J.W. Speaker is known for their innovative adaptive technology. If you are searching for a premium quality headlight for your Street Glide, this might just be the best on the market. Like we saw in with the Custom Dynamics, this light utilizes both low and high beams when the high beams are turned on. It is a great combination that maximizes visibility. It is made from great quality materials and looks great, if not a little futuristic.

What really sets the Adaptive 2 apart is the technology in the adaptive lighting. If you ride at night, you know that when you lean into a curve, the great wide light visibility provided by your low beams is often pointed at the ground and there are dark spots ahead. With the Adaptive 2 Headlight from J.W. Speaker, the beam will automatically adjust to account for the lean of the bike. This latest edition not only adjust the headlight beam when the lights are on the low setting, but it also works on high beam. If you have never ridden a motorcycle with adaptive headlights, you are missing out! It is nothing short of remarkable.

Of course, like most things people describe as remarkable, it comes at a cost and this one isn't cheap. It is one of the more expensive headlights on the market. If you only want the best for your Harley-Davidson, it is a price worth paying. Be sure to check the fitment chart before ordering. Depending on the year of your bike, you will likely also need an adapter. I really feel that at the price point for this headlight that should be included.

Finding the right headlight upgrade for your Harley-Davidson Street Glide is a big decision. You will talk to a lot of people that buy the cheapest LED headlight possible and go on and on about how great they are. In reality, most all LED lights will be a great improvement over a halogen bulb in terms of visibility. The difference really comes down to how long they last and how they look. I have bought that cheap LED headlight before. I admit it works and functions great. They just look cheap and a little silly. You wouldn't wear dirty tennis shoes with a Armani suit. Of course not. You've made a big investment in your motorcycle. For not much more, you can get a quality headlight that looks good. Check out the ones I've recommended above!
